Virtual Reality
I engage in research within the field of virtual reality, as well as project creation and design using the game engine Unity. I’ve taught at Curtin University, where I introduced students to virtual reality and took them through creating their own project. Currently, I'm teaching VR at SAE Institute.
Unnatural Freaks: Wolf at Evergreen (2021)
Unnatural Freaks: Wolf at Evergreen is a demo of an episodic VR narrative experience that was built using Unity. The project was built by Rebecca as a part of her Master of Arts, and in the last few weeks she brought on a couple of contractors, thanks to an MA Creative Project Funding Award, to help tidy up certain elements.
My Small World (2021)
In this short story, you play as a child who creates a 'new world' for a school science project. This VR Experience was made as part of the VR Jam 2021. This was a solo endeavour that focuses on narrative and mixing 3D and 2D assets. Created by Rebecca, using a mixture of pre-made assets and self-made assets. This project was completed within a day and a half.
Hobbit Room VR (2018)
This VR experience was created after a 3D modelling case study of Bilbo's study from the film series Lord Of The Rings.
Anxious Minds (2018)
Curtin Makerspace Creative Jam Winner 2018.
This project was created within a team of 3, following the theme of Health and Wellbeing. In the four days, we created a prototype that presented an anxiety simulation designed for family and friends alongside trained professionals to build empathy towards those suffering from an anxiety disorder.
For this project I was level designer.
Space Cargo (2017)
This VR experience was not only my first VR creation, but it is also the first time that I had built 3D models, used Unity and integrating voice commands.
I keep this prototype in my portfolio not only for nostalgia, but to see how my skills have grown.
I created this project solo. I did receive assistance from my lecturer when it came to programming.
